The historian Alexander Sytin during the Vremya Pokazhet (“Time will show”) program on Channel One on April 16 said that the fire at the Trade Unions House in Odessa is “the elimination of low-value human material.” Video is published on the site of the First Channel.
A reminder: in October 2014 Sytin was dismissed from the Russian Institute for Strategic Studies (RISS) for ideological and political reasons; he had previously made provocative statements, but now he crossed the line, dividing people and “human material”, thereby in effect justifying the genocide.
Earlier on NTV channel, the host of the talk show Mesto Vstrechi (“Meeting Place”), Ivan Trushkin expelled from the studio a writer, a Russian citizen Sergey Loyko, for his fascist statement that provoked a fight between the participants.
Alexander Malkevich, president of the Foundation for the Protection of National Values, said that such actions by activists on Russian TV were not an accident. They have the character of a planned provocation. Malkevich called on these citizens to be tried for publicly justifying terrorism and rehabilitating Nazism.
“The cynicism of such statements is overwhelming. It’s crazy to hear from Loyko, a citizen of a country that survived a terrible war, lost tens of millions of human lives, Nazi greetings. And no less monstrous is the statement of the “historian” Sytin, who has called civilians who died in the House of Trade Unions “low-value human material.”
What happened in Odessa is comparable only to the crimes of the fascists who burned people alive in the villages and this was assessed at the Nuremberg trials. Apparently, Mr. “historian” poorly learned his subject. I don’t even want to talk about the rest. A disgusting statement.
I think that the assessment of these words should give law enforcement agencies. I urge the prosecutor’s office to consider statements made in the media by Sytin and Loyko as a basis for initiating criminal cases under articles of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation 205.2. “Public calls for terrorist activities, public justification of terrorism” and 354.1 “Rehabilitation of Nazism”.
I also appeal to deputies of the State Duma of the Russian Federation with a proposal to explore the possibility of supplementing the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation with paragraphs containing responsibility for denying the actions of modern fascists in Ukraine, as well as to increase the punishment for statements containing hatred of humanity and the actual justification of the genocide.
The Foundation for the Protection of National Values remembers the tragedy in Odessa. We believe that such facts should receive an objective public inquiry by the international community, which has not been fully done,” said Alexander Malkevich.
